Day 4: Indigenous Rights
Activity 2: Celebrating Diversity [4 Points]
The two indigenous groups I think is fascinating
- Papuan People/ Papua New Guinea
1. About 840 distinct languages are spoken there
2. The Indigenous population is almost entirely Melanesian
-Maya People
1. They are keen observers of the skies keeping track of the movements of the sun and the seasons enabled by ancestors to develop one of the most accurate calendar systems ever invented
2. 6 million Maya currently live in Mesoamerica including Amala and large areas of southern Mexico, Belize Honduras and El Salvador
Activity 3: Wise Words [4 Points]
So I picked my mum and she said to me "Have the courage to live a life true to yourself, not the life others expect of you"

Ahiahi pai Brooklyn,
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing that piece of wisdom from you Mum - I think it's a really good thing to remember. Life is way too short to not live your life the way you want to!
Secondly, thanks for sharing those facts about Papuan People and the Maya People. I think it’s pretty amazing how these indigenous groups have such strong cultural traditions. There is so much for us to learn about these groups :)
Unfortunately I can only give you half points for that activity though because it needs to be written in your own words. Remember that anything you post online must be put into your own words. In order to receive full points for this activity, could you please re-read the activity and create a blog post using your own words.
You can either edit this post or delete it and create an entirely new one with the updated activity.
I look forward to reading your edited post Brooklyn.
Have a great weekend,
Eliza :)
